Get out of depth 2014

Take me out of my depth, make me tread water, get out of breath, ward off my death by keeping abreast of all of those waves and all of that water. (lyric from “Comes in waves” by Iain Woods)

In this collection of work Cunningham seeks to explore the ways we perceive and understand our surroundings. She has experimented with condensing basic line and form in these stone sculptures and drawings.

The stone is Welsh blue pennant, quarried in Neath, Wales.
