We can move mountains

Commemorating 100 years since the end of the First World War. Dimitri Ozerkov contemporary art curator from the Hermitage Museum St Petersburg invited one artist from each of the European countries involved in the 1ww to make an original artwork for the city Vittorio Veneto in northern Italy.

I was honoured to represent the UK and made this new sculpture ‘We can move mountains’ During the war the mountains around the city were so heavily bombed one peak, Mount Ortigara, lost 8m. My work marks the outline of the 8m lost. I presented a metal scale model for the exhibition. The full scale sculpture will hopefully be made and installed permanently in the cities public park in early 2019, with a seating/meeting area underneath.
